Postharvest biology of fruits and vegetables, fruit and vegetable preservation, agricultural product storage, processing and quality control

 Personal profile:

Jin Peng, PhD, Professor and PhD supervisor. He graduated from Nanjing Agricultural University in June 2009 with a Ph.D. in food science, after which he served as a lecturer at the College of Food and Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University. He is mainly engaged in the research of postharvest biology, the storage and preservation of fruit and vegetable. From September 2007 to September 2008, he went to the Agricultural Products Quality and Safety Laboratory (PQSL) of the United States Department of Agriculture to engage in the research of post-harvest preservation and storage technology of fruits and vegetables. In 2011, he was selected as the "Zhongshan Academic Rookie" of Nanjing Agricultural University. In 2012, he was selected to be the training object of outstanding young backbone teachers of the "Blue Project" in Jiangsu Province. In 2018, he was selected as the third-level training object of the "333 Project" of Jiangsu Province. He has long been engaged in the research of post-harvest chilling damage, disease control and preservation technology of fruits growing in South China (loquat, bayberry, peach, strawberry, grape, etc.) He has presided over 3 National Natural Science Foundation of China, participates in 1 National "Twelfth Five-Year" Science and Technology Support Plan, and 1 National Public Welfare (Agricultural) Industry Special Project. So far, he has published more than 60 papers on postharvest diseases and preservation techniques of fruits and vegetables, of which 45 are SCI-indexed (15 as the first author) and 5 are included in EI.
