1. Engineering earthquake resistance, vibration control and disaster prevention and mitigation

(1) Hydraulic engineering anti-seismic theory and methods, safety evaluation and earthquake prevention and disaster reduction;

(2) Fluid-solid coupling dynamic characteristics of hydropower plant, pump room and unit, anti-vibration and vibration reduction;

2. Analysis theory of thin-walled structure, steel-concrete composite structure and high-rise structure

(1) Vibration characteristics and dynamic stability of metal gates and hydraulic machinery;

(2) Analysis theory and vibration control of steel-concrete composite structure and high-rise structure;

3. Reinforcement, safety monitoring and ecological design of hydraulic structures

(1) Safety inspection and evaluation of hydraulic concrete structures, hydraulic gates, and hydraulic machinery;

 Main achievement:


1. Presided over or undertook 13 National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key R&D Projects, National Science and Technology Research Projects, National Science and Technology Support Projects, as well as over 90 scientific research projects such as the Three Gorges Project and the South-to-North Water Diversion Project;

2. Published more than 200 scientific research papers (including more than 50 SCI and EI-indexed papers);

3. As editor-in-chief of the series of book: the national key planning books under the 12th and 13th five-year plan, the national key book publishing fund project; the 35 sub-volumes of the "Wind Power Engineering Technology" series has filled the blank in the industry. As series editor: “The 16 sub-volumes of "Water Conservancy and Hydropower Typical Design Atlas” has filled the blank in the industry; "Research and Progress in Seismic and Disaster Prevention of Modern Water Conservancy and Hydropower Engineering" (2009-2015); participated in the compilation of several sub-volumes in the large-scale water conservancy series "Hydraulic Design Manuals";

 4. The multi-body contact dynamic analysis methods, dam foundation dynamic damage model, etc., he proposed have solved the key problems in the design of the lock head of the Three Gorges shiplift and the stability of the high dam anti-vibration force, and won 1 special and the first prize of the provincial and ministerial awards; The key technology he proposed such as semi-buried, deep foundation pit pull-anchored ground connecting wall and grading has solved seismic design problem of large pumping station on soft foundation of South-to-North Water Transfer, which was reported by CCTV Science and Education Channel; The analysis theory of the thin-walled composite structure of the large metal gate and the prestressing plan, etc., he proposed has solved the key problems of the torsion resistance and construction of the large-scale miter gate of the Three Gorges, and won 3 scientific and technological progress awards from the Ministry of Water Resources.
